The 2015 Kia Sedona has earned a five-star safety rating from the government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is one of the best safety awards any vehicle can receive, so there’s no better choice for your family’s van.

Overall the five out five score is the best you can do in the NHTSA test, and the Sedona also scored perfect scores for frontal crashes and side crashes. In rollover crashes, the Sedona earned four out of five stars. The Sedona even received bonus points for offering the recommended forward collision warning as an optional add-on feature.

The Sedona’s front crash was handled at 35 MPG on a dry, concrete surface. Both male and female drivers and passengers were rated five of five in regards to their safety in these crashes. It’s the same thing with side crashes. In those tests both male and female driver and passenger were rated with a five star safety score.

“NHTSA’s recent 5-star rating of the 2015 Sedona is a testament to Kia’s commitment to safety.  The Sedona is all-new for 2015 and combines CUV-like styling, inside and out, with exceptional quality and the tremendous value our brand is known for,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning.  “As families begin planning summer vacations in their Sedonas, they can feel confident in the engineering that went into their vehicle and that NHTSA has validated the product with its highest safety rating.”

The Sedona was rebuilt for 2015 with loads of standard safety equipment. You’ll get peace of mind from electronic stability control, traction control system and hill start assist control. The Sedona also comes standard with brake assistant system, electronic brake-force distribution and cornering braking control. It also comes standard with front and side curtain airbags and intuitively built seat belts, including the LATCH system that helps securely install a car seat. In fact, the Kia Sedona earned a great score in cars.com’s car seat test.

The Sedona is also built on a stiffer torso that is 36-percent great than its closer competitor. The Sedona is also 76 percent built of advanced high strength steel for crash protection.

The Sedona is also an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

So there’s no better choice for minivan safety than this 2015 Kia Sedona. Luckily Waikem Kia here in Massillon, Ohio has  a great selection of Sedonas, and we invite you into the showroom today and let the entire family see why this is one of the most popular vans on the road today.
