REVIEW: 2015 Kia Sorento

The 2015 Kia Sorento is one of the first of its model year to hit the Massillon showroom. With its best in class horsepower, space for everyone and refined interior space, it seems like this SUV keeps getting better every year.

The Sorento received a full makeover in 2014, so changes are minimal outside and under the hood. Inside, the Sorento added soft-touch material and higher-end material, drawing styling cues from the luxury models of the Kia Cadenza, and Kia K900. Some of plastic interior pieces have been replaced with these soft-touch materials and new thin metallic trims.

There’s been some updates to the exterior as well. Kia has enhanced the front grille with a new silver or black mesh appearance and a more aggressive cross-hatched intake. Front LED lamps have been slightly re-positioned, and the available fog lights are given a more bold appearance. Overall, the Sorento is given the lower, wider appearance.

VEHICLE BROCHURE: 2015 Kia Sorento

The 2015 Kia Sorento ranks No. 1 in its class for horsepower, according to Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. The 3.3 liter V6 engine cranks out 290 horsepower at 6,400 rpm; and 252 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm.

You can get your Sorento in available All Wheel drive or standard Front Wheel Drive, and all Sorento models come with the 6-speed, manually-selected automatic transmission.

The Kia brand has always been known for great tech, as it was one of the first brands to offer features such as Bluetooth and USB plugs across the lineup. This year, the Sorento still comes standard with Bluetooth and those USB and Auxiliary plugs. As you climb up the trim levels, you’ll add great technology features including touch-screen navigation, satellite radio, and UVO eServices — the next generation of infotainment and telematics.

For the first time this year, the navigation can be uncoupled from UVO and Infinity sound system, delivering state of the art voice-recognition technology and premium sound system.

Beyond the tech, a number of optional features available include power liftgate, panoramic sunroof, second row sunshades, dual ventilated heated and cooled front seats and illuminated door handle pockets.

One of the best parts of the Kia Sorento is space for everyone. Choose between the five seat configuration or available third row seat that provides room for up to seven. At either configuration, there is plenty of cargo room when space needs supersede people needs.

The Sorento offers 17, 18 or 19 inch wheel options.  Get the Sorento in 10 available exterior colors, and 8 different seat color and fabric options.

 The Car Connection

“Instead Kia’s roomy, versatile family vehicle has been on a constant improvement plan, with incremental changes each year that altogether make this one of the best-updated models in its class.”

Kelley Blue Book

“If you’re looking for a 7-passenger crossover SUV big on comfort, safety, style and in-cabin technology, the 2015 Kia Sorento ranks among the best in class.”

AOL Autos

“Ride quality is smooth. We found the V6 smooth and quiet and recommend it over the four-cylinder because the Sorento is on the heavier side of the class.”
