Review: The 2015 Kia Optima

The 2015 Kia Optima has just hit our showroom floor. This mid-model refresh offers a few nice changes and features to make the 2015 model really stand out. Let’s take a look at the Kia Optima.

Engine and Mechanics

The Optima offers two different engines. On LX, EX, and SX models are paired to a 2.4 liter direct injection engine. On SX-Turbo and SX-Limited models features Kia’s robust 2.0 liter direct injection turbo engine. The turbo engine features the power of a six cylinder engine with the fuel economy of a four cylinder, achieving 20 MPG in the city and 31 on the highway for a 24 combined MPG. Both engines are paired to Kia’s ever reliable six speed automatic transmission with sportmatic technology.

Styling

The 2015 Kia Optima continues with it’s ?tiger nose? design language. With stretched front headlights, aggressive front grille, and coupe like dimensions makes the Optima one of the most sleek four door designs on the road today. The Optima offers a variety of wheel choices. The LX model features a 16? alloys, the EX features 17? alloy wheels, with the SX, SX-Turbo, and the Limited models all featuring machine or chrome finished 18? wheels. New for this model are the smoke blue metallic paint, as well as the platinum graphite to replace the bright silver, and the metal bronze colors.

Safety

The 2015 Kia Optima comes equiped with all the safety features you would expect for 2015. All models come standard with Dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat mounted side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. All models also come standard with four-wheel disc anti lock brakes, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, and hill start assistance. Optionally you can opt for backup camera, backup warning, and blind spot detect with cross-traffic alert.

Options and Tech

The 2015 Optima features all the tech features that Kia is known for offering. All models come standard with bluetooth wireless hands free calling, audio and phone controls on the steering wheel, SiriusXM radio, and USB audio input. Optional features include an Infinity Premium Sound system, voice-command navigation with SiriusXM traffic, dual zone climate control, and remote start. You can also opt for an Optima with Kia’s UVO infotainment system. This system pairs with your apple or android phone to keep you up to date everywhere you go with what is going on with your vehicle and use voice commands. Use your phone or car infotainment screen to listen to Pandora Radio, 911 connect in case of an accident, order roadside assistance, schedule service, keep up to date on your trip info, or even find your car in a parking lot!
