The 2015 Kia Sedona has earned a five-star safety rating from the government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is one of the best safety awards any vehicle can receive, so there’s no better choice for your family’s van.

Overall the five out five score is the best you can do in the NHTSA test, and the Sedona also scored perfect scores for frontal crashes and side crashes. In rollover crashes, the Sedona earned four out of five stars. The Sedona even received bonus points for offering the recommended forward collision warning as an optional add-on feature.

The Sedona’s front crash was handled at 35 MPG on a dry, concrete surface. Both male and female drivers and passengers were rated five of five in regards to their safety in these crashes. It’s the same thing with side crashes. In those tests both male and female driver and passenger were rated with a five star safety score.

Review: 2016 Kia Sorento

IMG_2390

2016 Kia Sorento SX-L

The 2016 Kia Sorento hit the dealership earlier this month, and it’s already one of our top selling vehicles. The new design is great, and changes to the mechanics of the car make it the most comfortably riding Kia of all-time.  These Sorentos are leaving the dealership faster than we can bring them in right now, so don’t hesitate to see one for yourself today!

So What’s New?

In a word, everything. The 2016 Kia Sorento is a full redesign over last year’s model. The styling is the first thing that really stands out in this year’s model. It takes a more nature-inspired look, complete with a taller, bolder stance, and what Kia calls a “Edigness and rugged personality.”

There is an all-new wider front grille with bolder, aggressive front LED headlights. The new four-squared fog light design is eye-catching and innovative — we don’t see that on any other SUV of its class. There are also four new alloy wheel designs ranging from 17 to 19 inches, depending on your trim.

Then climb inside for a new sophisticated interior with more premium and soft touch material than ever before. It just feels like a more quality vehicle inside, thanks those new premium materials found on the steering wheel, in the doors and on the center console. The seat fabric also lends itself to more quality than ever before.

The 2015 Kia Sedona gets a very high score in cars.com’s car seat test.

The great new 2015 Kia Sedona gets a very high grade in cars.com’s car seat test. Using real moms to test the effectiveness of a vehicle to keep your child safe, the Sedona has to be one of the top cars for families.

Cars.com’s parent bloggers test every car in the industry and grade them on the traditional grade school report car scale. The Sedona received an A score in seven of the eight criteria:

Latch System: A

Infant-safety-seat: A

Rear-facing convertible: A

Forward-facing convertible: A

Booster seat: A

Kia Soul Voted “Best Unexpected Family Car”

With unexpected cargo room and easy to install child's seat, the 2015 Kia Soul was voted Cars.com's favorite unexpected family car.

With unexpected cargo room and easy to install child’s seat, the 2015 Kia Soul was voted Cars.com’s favorite unexpected family car.

Real families writing for cars.com voted the 2015 Kia Soul as the best “unexpected family car.” Testing cars that are not traditionally marketed for families, these writers chose the Soul for its ample space, easy to install car seats and plenty of storage space.

Cars.com asked a mom with three children — a preschooler and twin infants — to test cars outside of the traditional family car category, so there were no crossovers, minivans or large SUVs. After testing a number of cars, she picked the Soul as the best one for her family.

“The Soul is kid-tested, parent approved,” she said. The Soul’s boxy design and dimensions allow for plenty of headroom, and with its low floor the kids had no problem getting in and out. Up front and in the back, the Soul still offers tons of legroom for parents. You can only fit two car seats in a Soul, but  it offers wide, flat seats and exposed Latch anchors that make it very easy to install the cars seats.
